Bringing a Bit of Summer into My Wintry Monday

Dress (ancient), Tights and Boots all from Dorothy Perkins, Long Sleeved T shirt (under dress) Primark and Cardigan from a boutique in Berlin

I had to wear my chunky cardigan to protect me from the gale force winds!
We have gone from sub zero temperatures, knee deep snow and thick ice to gale force winds, heavy rain and flooding all in the space of a couple of days. You have to love the good old British weather for keeping you on your toes. Despite the grim weather I woke up really wanting to wear this summer dress that I haven't worn since I went to Los Angeles back in October 2011.  I obviously made it cold weather appropriate, layering it up over a long sleeved t shirt with navy 120 denier tights (almost like leggings really!) and topped it off with my big chunky cardigan and my trusty knee boots.  I was lovely and warm and it cheered me up wearing a piece of summer in this gloomy weather :)

Today was the first day of my week off, I mainly pottered about doing housework this morning and then went into town this afternoon to collect my prescription and take some things back.  I also went into Primark and didn't buy anything, it was like a miracle!! Maybe I am reformed?! I doubt it haha, I think I was just tired and it was nearly closing time so I felt rushed, I hate feeling like that when I am shopping.

Tomorrow I am starting on the wardrobe sort out, it is a BIG job (and what I mainly took the week off for) I need to get myself to sleep now so I am rested and ready for it.  Wish me luck!!!

Also, don't forget to enter my giveaway to win yourself an inlovewithfashion dress.  Good luck if you enter!!

  6. You have the cutest outfits using simple pieces. Love it! I like to wear bright things (like the tie-dye scarf I made) on gloomy days. It makes me feel happy and I hope it makes the people around me feel more cheerful too. :) Cold weather sucks!!! lol

  16. UK weather is funny, isn't it? But the people are funnier. One snowflake and we're all running round like headless chickens. But you're right, it's been so windy since the snow melted.
I like how you matched your boots and belt.

    1. It is very weird weather indeed, we are very much keep calm and carry on up in Yorkshire though, everyone just puts on snow boots and coats and walks to work or where they need to go. We had some fun laughing at the news showing people in London and Kent panicking and trying to drive their cars in it when the roads weren't gritted properly. I really hope you aren't from that neck of the woods and if you are I am sorry, no offence meant haha. Thanks :) and for the link, will check it out :)

    1. Which part of the UK are you in? I need to head in that direction lol. It has been 80mph winds, severely heavy rain (hello floods) and about -1 degrees with wind chill up in West Yorkshire. I preferred the snow haha.

  18. Glad you left your links on the Flock Together blog, this is a super cute outfit!! I really don't know how you people even leave the house in that weather haha but I do like your layering of the big sweater!
