This is the dress I would have worn if I had been well enough to go out on Saturday night (the one I featured in my blog post arrived and had like a 14 inch waist on it, I couldn't even get my head into it, Mr Bertie thought it was one leg of a pair of leggings, lol, so I sent it back and ordered this) I am not that certain about it though, I tried it on tonight with the earrings and bracelet I bought to go with it and got Mr Bertie to take a photo (Mr Bertie likes it but I am not so convinced yet), what do you think? It is from ASOS and can be bought here.... To keep or not to keep? That is the question...?
From what I see, you should SO keep this dress. It gives you such an AMAZING silhouette.

Thanks Terry, I really appreciate that, so this is so far two for keeping it (you and Mr Bertie) I am liking it a bit more now :)

tbh, i wouldn't keep it, it might be the angle but it's too "mermaid"/wrapped at the bottom for me.
ReplyDeletex Tibby
Thanks for your input, it doesn't look like that in real life (if you know what I mean) think it is angle I am at and the photo was taken at but I totally hear you on it!! Thanks :)

I just think it need accessorizing a little more
ReplyDeleteI thought that but I tried a necklace and it looked weird with the neckline and the mesh panels (camera doesn't really pick those up) I get what you mean though :)

Thanks Ginny, I think I'm.keeping it and just taking it up by a few inches, it can be my first sewing project? :)
DeleteJanine xx
Hmmm, I love everything from like the knees up, but the length is a little off. Still you make anything look good!
ReplyDeleteYep I totally agree with you re length, if I'm keeping it I'll need to take it up by 3-4 inches lol, way too long. Thank you though, very sweet :)

OMG I love this! It is so elegant and looks perfect on you. KEEP KEEP KEEP! What happend that you couldn't make it out Saturday night? I was looking forward to the hair post.

Thanks Magda :) I was poorly on Saturday night (caught some sort of bug again, still not 100% so off to doctors tomorrow to see why I keep catching things) I was gutted I couldn't go :( I'll try updo another time perhaps :)

I'm going to echo what everyone said above and say KEEP! You look gorgeous and classy in it, while giving a bit of subtle va-va-voom sexiness. :)

I really like this dress, I think it looks elegant and unusual with the asymmetric neckline and midi length.
ReplyDeleteI say keep!

Keep it! The dress is chic and sophisticated and you look great! Maybe try to highlight more gold accents as well as a pointed heel to further elongate your legs. And maybe a sleek ponytail?

Thanks, I will try more gold with it (I am going to take the hemline up) and also the ponytail. I don't fancy pointed heels though, I have always hated pointed shoes on me (not on other people, they look lovely on some women, I think my legs are too muscular for them)I like your ideas though thank you for sharing with me and giving me some thoughts about how to wear this when I eventually take the length up.
DeleteJanine xx
Gorgeous, it's a keeper! Classy and chic. I like the length as is, but I'm a vintage-loving gal so prefer a longer length. I'm 5"9 so I struggle to find dresses long enough for me from the High Street!
ReplyDeleteThanks Cassy. I liked the length at first then I felt swamped by it and also nearly broke my neck going up the stairs (it has no split so it is a real wiggle style dress and I didn't anticipate that when I tried to go upstairs lol)
