Next Guest Blogger Competition

When I was invited to enter the Next Guest Blogger competition I knew I had to enter straight away as 1) I love competitions (more about that in a future post, I am a GEEK!) 2) I love Next clothing and 3) the prize was too good not to enter!!  The competition details can be found here and the prizes are three outfits each up to the value of £150 (exciting) and the opportunity to guest post about your style picks on the Next Blog (even more exciting!)  The question I chose to answer was 'What are your staple pieces to take you from Winter to Spring and what would you wear them with' my answer is below;

As my signature style is dresses I decided to focus on these as my staple pieces.  I chose two lovely dresses which would both be perfect to take from Winter to Spring.

Outfit 1 - The Navy Dress
Winter
Bird Print Jersey Lace Dress (£28), Brown Leather Biker Jacket (£160), Buckle Work Boots (£85), Suede Hobo Bag (£50), Gold Shiny Sequin Boing Scarf (£12.50), Lipsy 80 Denier Tights (£8)
This pretty dress can be hardened up by wearing a biker jacket and work boots, layered over tights and with a cosy scarf it is perfect for winter.

Spring
Bird Print Jersey Lace Dress (£28), Suede Hobo Bag (£50), Dolce & Gabbana Hobo Sunglasses (£220), Leather Round Toe Ballerinas (£26), PU Biker Jacket (£55)
Still wearing a leather jacket, but going for a lighter colour this time and with bare legs and ballerinas instead of tights and boots, this dress is easily carried through into Spring.  The bag is an all season staple and works well for both Winter and Spring.

Outfit 2 The Lace Dress
Winter
By Layering the dress up over tights and knee length boots and wrapping up in a heavy coat and scarf this outfit would be good to keep you warm and cosy.  The belt and bag add a bit of interest to the dress whilst tying in with the colour of the boots. A very simple but chic winter outfit.

Spring
A very simple look for Spring.  By keeping the dress loose and unbelted and worn under a demin jacket it keeps the look casual.  But the shoes and bag add a pop of glamorous colour meaning this outfit can be taken from day to night very easily.

I hope you like my choices, I certainly had fun putting these outfits together. Do you have a favourite outfit from the 4 above? My favourite is the Navy Dress Spring outfit, love it! Don't forget to share your entries with me if you have entered, I would love to see them.  Good Luck!!
