Snowmageddon and Plans for a Home Makeover

*Another disclaimer: I will be wearing a big jumper over the dress and thick leggings over the tights plus a heavy winter coat and snow boots for the walk to work, this is how I will look  whilst at work only, I am not crazy. Ok Mum? LOL

SNOW UPDATE (Because I am British and it is the thing to do right now): The weather still hasn't improved and if anything it has got much worse. We have  had very heavy snow overnight and most schools in our local area are closed today. Trains and buses have been cancelled and many roads are blocked. As I mentioned on Friday though, I won't be getting a snow day.  I am interviewing this afternoon so no matter what I have to be there (although whether they will turn up is another matter, they may not be able to travel). This is outside my house this morning. Yes, I am looking forward to walking to work in that.

On a much brighter note I am sooo looking forward to my week off next week, I just have 4 days to work this week and then I am off for 9 whole days. I am taking the time off to sort out the house and do some much needed spring winter cleaning.  I need to make a list of what needs to be done as there is so much it is just overwhelming. Once the house is sorted it is time to start planning some makeovers for most of the rooms. I have been pinning to my Home Ideas Pinterest board for ideas and these are my favourites (at the moment, they change daily!) There are going to be a lot more home themed posts coming up in the near future I am sure :)
The only living room I like the idea of that Mr Bertie will go for too. I think I am going to try make ours like this when we do it up
I would so love my dressing room to turn out like this. Unfortunately I don't have the space (or money) to make this a reality. I can take inspiration from it though

I am in love with this bedroom
As you can see I have a very varied taste and it all doesn't seem to fit a theme. However, I think it is good to mix things up and take elements from different styles so your house doesn't become boring and soulless (like hotels can be) What do you think, do you like any of these? Do you have a Pinterest board to share with me for inspiration?

  3. I've been into home makeovers.... and i think this year i'm finally going to get my own place... so totally looking forward to doing all these 'makeover' things in a budget. Also.... I know it's only January, but I'm already looking forward to halloween haha. I know, i'm suuuch a dork.

    You look awesome in that outfit btw. You look so skinny~ you probably don't need to go to the gym!

    1. It's a lovely kitchen isn't it? Just wish we had a kitchen big enough for this or a house that could carry off that style! My mum told me for going out in inappropriate outfits for the weather so I thought I would throw that in there haha. Happy Monday to you too :)

    1. Thanks Sharon. I wish they would cancel work it would be such fun to stay at home all day, oh well never mind. I can hope it gets even deeper over night as it is meant to snow heavily again tonight and snowed all day so is knee deep here now in places :)

    1. Thanks Ellie :) Yes we have had loads and even more fell today! I am back home safe and sound now (I worked 9-5 so it was a normal ish day for me just no overtime as the building closed at 5 prompt instead of being open until 7pm like it usually is)

    1. I think I have made it sound more exciting than it is, 4 days of that 9 days are weekend, I am only having 5 days off work lol, I just like to count it all in though :) Thanks it is a dress but looks like a top which I like :)

  12. Ok, you guys have even more snow than us! Make sure you have some boots with a good grip. I have Doc Martens and I feel like I can run on ice with them and they make walking in the snow much easier. I'm in love with that bedroom too!

    1. It's still coming down too, we're due another 20cm tonight! And I still wont get a snow day!!! It's crazy. I will need to ski to work tomorrow haha. I have some proper solid snow boots with a rubber chunky base and padding all up the leg (knee height) and lined with fur, they are great I got them when I went skiing last year and they have come in super handy!

    1. Thanks, I really want the dressing room and I have enough shoes to fill it already haha, most of my shoes are summer shoes which is stupid as we barely get a summer here! I need to get some more cold weather shoes and boots!
