Songs That Remind me Of...

Whilst I was getting ready to go out last night I was listening to a bit of a random playlist of songs from the last few years and realised just how many songs have memories attached to them for me and I decided to share a few with you (click the titles to see the youtube videos)...

I Gotta Feeling (That Tonight's Gonna Be a Good Night) - Black Eyed Peas

Reminds me of: my birthday mini break in Riga, Latvia in September 2009 (Mr Bertie booked it as a surprise).  This song was playing a lot right around this time and the hotel gym seemed to play all the time. Yeah we are geeks and like to go to the gym on holiday, plus we were the only two people who were ever in this gym so it was like our own personal gym.  Don't worry we did a lot of eating and drink too :)

Just The Way You Are - Bruno Mars

Reminds me of: our holiday in Fuerteventura in November 2010. Once again this was played a lot during this time (especially on MTV that was on loop whenever we were in the room as we had forgotten our speakers for our iPod music) This holiday was pretty much one of the most perfect holidays we have ever been on. We went to an amazing 'all in' resort that did every sport under the sun which we took full advantage of. I haven't spoken much about this before but Mr Bertie is very sporty, he has run a marathon (Berlin marathon, I am getting to that one as a song reminds me of that haha), done many triathlons, done a tough guy challenge and has done lots of cycle challenges, he loves cycling. This resort was a specialist cycling place where they had top quality equipment and really professional cycle instructors who took people out on really challenging road or mountain bike rides. For me there was pilates, yoga and 3 pools. We spent our days doing our own classes or sports in the morning (which gave us both a bit of alone time, very important on a holiday I think) then met up in the afternoon to go for a walk or chill by the pool and then spent every night getting drunk and eating lots of food.  We didn't go for the culture we just needed a week of R&R and it was PERFECT.

Reminds me of: Yet again another holiday! This time is when we went to Berlin in September 2011 for Mr Bertie to run the marathon. We had an awesome time, visited museums, went on a cycle tour of the city and of course had a very big day on the day of the marathon. That night we partied with the winners of the marathon including Paula Radcliffe, it was a brilliant time!!
