Transatlantic Fashion #1

Having found each others blogs through Dressember, myself and Silver had great fun following each other and seeing what the other posted daily during the challenge.  Check out Silver's blog 'A Silver Snapshot' and see her lovely outfit posts, fab photography skills and her amazing DIY/sewing skills (she is my inspiration for my upcoming dressmaking, it will happen one day I promise).  I love reading her daily posts talking about her (very busy) life as a nursing student and what she gets up to with her close knit family.  Plus she always amazes me how she copes in such cold weather, I would be in permanent hibernation, seriously!

When Dressember came to an end we were messaging about something we could do together now that Dressember has come to an end and we came up with Transatlantic fashion.  The name came about as Silver is over in Canada (I hear you have a little bit of snow over there at the moment Silver? Ha what an understatement) and I am over here in little old England.  We decided it would be nice to do a monthly 'Transatlantic' link up post at the end of each month in 2013 sharing what we are wearing/loving that month.  We are starting off simple with an outfit post each for our first link up, but we may add more in as the months go on (random facts about us/our home towns or fashions that are trending in our areas) but for now, let's get started with the outfits.

Silver's January outfit - I love this, especially as she actually made this skirt from a dress as part of one of her DIY sewing projects (original post here) she is one talented lady, make sure you pay a visit to her blog :)

My January outfit (I have worn this before in Dressember and loved it so much I decided it is my 'dress of the month' for January) Dress from Primark, Tights and boots from Dorothy Perkins, Bubble Necklace from eBay

I often have very animated conversations with Mr Bertie whilst forcing him to take my outfit photos, I think I was pointing at the curry I was cooking here and telling him to 'stir it please' lol, I am so bossy

I hope you have enjoyed our first link up and seeing another face around here other than mine (it can get boring I know, I have to look at it in the mirror every day lol) I am already excited for our next one on 28th February (it's a good job someone reminded me it is a not a leap year this year otherwise I would have been late for it!)  Have a lovely Thursday!

P.S I just realised we have the exact same pose going on, but we are pointing our legs to a different side! A nod to being on either side of the Atlantic maybe? Or a random coincidence? Although most likely it is because this is a the standard bloggers outfit pose I think hehe. Love it!

No it isn't lol, just a discussion we had about being on either side of the atlantic and being into fashion so we went all out and called it 'Transatlantic Fashion' Silver made the image for it, very clever :)
