Something to Look Forward To

Dress from Mango (at ASOS), Shoes from New Look

Another Monday at work, not much to say apart from it was manic and I am already counting down until the weekend! I have also seen a job I might apply for, it closes on Thursday though so I will have to spend all of my day off on Wednesday doing the application (it is massive and last time I did one I wrote 18 pages! That is what you have to do to get a job nowadays though!) I don't want to say too much yet as the application form will involve me doing lots of research in order to complete it successfully, so I don't want to put all that pressure on myself just in case I can't get it done before the deadline. If I do manage it though I am going to meet with the manager after submission to talk through the role in a bit more detail which should hopefully help me lots if I end up getting an interview. Fingers crossed for me, it would be a great new challenge for me, we will see....

When I got home tonight the house alarm came on as I came into the house and it stayed on for a full 20 minutes. I really didn't know what to do and just kept punching in the alarm code over and over again, it was so loud and stressful. I finally got it to switch off but apparently it did it because the battery is dying, which involves getting up on the big ladders to change it (Mr Bertie of course, not me, I am not allowed up ladders lol) I hope he does it soon as I think the neighbours are pretty annoyed at me right now after that little performance tonight. Interesting how nobody came round to see if we were getting burgled though... I suddenly feel panicked that my dresses may get stolen when I'm out at work and nobody will even notice let alone care. This distresses me greatly!

I am still on with booking the weekend away for Mr Bertie and me this weekend (yes still!) but I have made a promise to myself I will have it done before I go to bed tonight. Not sure what is wrong with me but I am just not feeling the 'hotel booking' right now.  What I have been doing though is planning a trip to Los Angeles and a trip to New York, yey! I want to go to New York in December (maybe not a great month to go weather wise but hey ho!) and also plan to go to Los Angeles, San Francisco and Las Vegas all in one trip next February/March.  That one has to be so far ahead as it will take a lot of planning and also probably involve taking about 3 weeks off work which will need advance authorisation and begging and pleading with my boss.  It makes me excited to be planning things though.

Has anyone else got any holidays booked this year? Ooh I feel like a hairdresser, do you want highlights or all over colour... lol. Let me know if you have anything booked or are planning anything. As I said before, I love hearing about trips and travel and planning these things.

P.S. The coldsore has gone, yeyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy (well it has left a little sore patch and a scar which is always there because of the stoooopid poopy doopy coldsore but the actual sore of cold is gone!!! Whoooop)

  4. I can't wait to hear more about your trip to LA. If you have time perhaps we could meet up. Sorry not to sound creepy but I think it might be fun to meet in person as I feel like I have gotton to know you well via the blog and maybe we could do a post together about our meeting. Anyway, good luck with all the planning and let me know what you think.

    1. It doesn't sound creepy at all, it is something I was thinking about earlier :) great minds thinking alike again. I am going to look into it and price it up over the coming weeks/months so no doubt I will be writing more about this and we can plan something closer to the time/when I get booked. It would be really cool to meet you :)

  6. Outfit = AWESOME. Love that dress!

I also love the sound of your trip: we did LA and San Francisco two years ago, and I would LOVE to go back. We had planned to have a couple of days in Vegas, too (We've been before, but in December, when it was freezing, so we wanted to see it when it was hot!) but didn't make it in the end because there was just so much to see in LA/SF that we ran out of time. One day! We had actually planned to go to New York this summer, but now we're saving for a new house, so we're going to to Miami instead, which will work out cheaper as we'll be sharing a house with my parents: I just can't wait to be in the sun!

  16. Yowsers, those shoes are fierce! I really need to get over my fear of wearing splendid heels even if no one else is. As for the alarm, it would have been amusing to see you try to disarm it but so disturbing if your dresses got stolen :P Happy Tuesday!

  20. Those shoes are so gorgeous and your dress is really lovely too - a very sophisticated look this one!
I know just how hard it is applying to jobs lately - I devote so much time to applications, cover letters, interviews etc... all to get knocked back time and time again, but I'm always determined to give it my best shot (however much bad luck I endure) it's so hard right now, but one day it will be worthwhile.

Good luck with your application :) xxx
