Sunday Lunch and The Bob Marley Hat Again!!

I am slightly obsessed with my 'Bob Marley' hat at the moment and seem to be wearing it all the time.  My love for it may have even replaced my love for my 'ear muffins'! Gosh! I also decided to wear my jumper dress today, so cosy and comfortable, perfect for a rainy Sunday afternoon. Plus we all know how much I love these boots...

Last night I finally gave my knitting a go. I am not actually knitting anything here just practising how to knit so there are a few dropped stitches and it looks a bit weird lol.  But the good news is I remembered how to cast on and do the basic knitting when I hadn't done it for over 16 years and didn't even look on the internet.  I don't know how to cast off so I am going to just keep knitting and knitting until the wool runs out and then call my Mum.  Haha, just joking, we are doing a knitting session at the Women's Institute meeting on Tuesday night so I will learn how to do it then. 

Following this my first project is a nice chunky scarf for my grandma and granddad (I have to make it unisex so they can share it as I think two scarves will be hard work for first project, lol, lucky them eh?!).  I am meeting them for lunch at the end of the month so am on a tight deadline. And beyond that I want to knit a jumper and those amazing shorts I shared with you on here. I am obsessed with them.

Anyway, back to today, we went out for Sunday lunch and a few beers at a local pub which was really nice, back home now feeling a bit tipsy and about to do my cleaning. This should be interesting...

  9. oh yay for you learning to knit, i learnt last winter and still love it. i find it soooo relaxing! i think i need to pick up my needles again asap! lol! would you like some Tips for a beginner? Start with real chunky needles and chunky wool (i used sz 10 needles but 11 or 12 is good too) and you will see your scarf grow in no time at all, also the stitches will be bigger so you can see each stitch clearly and know very quickly if you have made a mistake (which does happen and is a pain in the bum!lol) But mostly its just satisfying watching it get longer and longer :-)

  15. Cute dress!! It goes perfect with your Bob Marley hat :) I tried knitting a scarf once and it just kept getting wider and wider! It was awful!! Haha! Yours looks great so far and I love the cobalt blue color!!
